Not that I can find by google or yellow pages?
There is a radioshack close by and a Walmart. Would office max have either of those? There is a target that near the best buy.

She just has the kit lens. If you zoom in on the lens Things become blurry. Not sure if that is what is meant by the lower end Nikon's not auto focusing??

K Walmart has the T2i in stock but doesn't carry the D3100, but they have the D5100. Wondering if the 2Nikons would feel similar?

I would think they would be very similar both being entry level cameras.

oh okay. so from what im getting from this its probably that the lens is broken. not sure though

to clear things up for you, the non-auto focusing lenses are non af-s. the higher end models have built in focusing motors where the lower end models do not like the d40 d3000 d3100, the lower ends must rely on the lens to have the focusing motor.

IDK? doesn't seem to be broken? I thought it had something to do with it not having auto focus?

I went to walmart and tried out the T2i. It felt good in my hand. Not sure if it felt better than the Nikon. I thought they both felt good. The Nikon is cheaper though. It doent have all the features that the Canon does though. The canon felt kinda cheap to me? The plastic and attention to detail didn't seem to be as good. The screen however has a better resolution than the Nikon! IDK Which one to get! lol It doesn't help that i'm the most indecisive person in the world either!

Been there done that man, I looked no joke for a month, each time visiting the store I played with the same 2 cameras, finally I decided on the Canon, felt better in my hand. Don't rush your purchase, be 100% sure when you buy it. Like I said I looked for a month, and looking back I wish I would have kept looking and got the t2i. But hey thats ok with me. But moral is don't rush it and be 100% sure, look and look and look.

Ok i will most likely be getting the D3100. Just mostly because it's cheaper. Should i get the kit lens? Or should i just get the body only and upgrade the lens right away? What would be a good first lens? 50mm???

I would just get the kit lens, its a good lens for the price. A 50mm prime would be a great second lens.

It means the focal length is not adjustable.

For example the kit lens is not a prime because it can go from 18mm to 55mm, but a 50mm f/1.8 lens is a prime because it's stuck at 50mm.

Cant go wrong with either brand IMO.

I have the Nikon D5000. I love it. Some things you have to realize with the D3100. You cant use a remote with it. So if you want to set the camera up and remote press the shutter, Its not happening.

I didnt think was a big deal for me, but i use my little $3 remote ALOT with my camera.
