actually the a new mast would be easy to put on, its just finding one. the mast just rests on teh boat until you raise it up then you just have to shove it in the slot (much like sex). i would only need help if we decide to actually fix the mast. even then i know a bunch of metal workers and my roomie is a mech engineer so we could probably manage to not F it up too bad

Even if you can find a mast that isn't the exact same diameter/cross section it will still work as long as it is still close to the right size. The shrouds are the wires that attach to the mast and go to the sides of the boat and the forestay/headstay attaches to the bow, and then there is the backstay (which i doubt you have)

Check out dwyer mast they have every fitting you could ever need. You can even get shorter pieces of mast tubing to use as reinforcements/extensions for your mast cuz a few feet of mast tube isn't expensive its the shipping that kills.

yup, the guy from the power plant

cool, thanks for the advise. the shrouds and most the rigging is in great shape so i would want to re use it. whats a backstay? (you can tell i'm an accomplished sailor. in fact, i taught Roland everything he knows)

that actually wouldn't bother me but i want to have a good time sinking it, i dont want to just take it out and drop a rock through the bottom. the only thing i'm afraid of would be getting caught in the rigging and getting dragged down. but my eventual goal is to beach this thing at the bottom of a lake

that actually looks pretty good, it has a nice organic look to it. maybe i can fill the cabin with compost and actually grow a tree out of the top...

you just beat tigerfan for title of ultra mega retard

The backstay would go from the top of the mast to the stern of the boat... but smaller boats don't usually have them
