I'm kind of digging the shoot crooked like that, for that particular scene.

I like it crooked and cropped. The straight horizon is a little bland.

iso is different. that is the sensors sensitivity to light.

what shooting mode are you using(auto, aperture priority, shutter priority, manual, etc)? what model camera are you using? i saw you have a sony but i have never used a sony dslr haha

    • ISO is the camera's sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the camera is to light.
    • Shutter speed The amount of time the shutter is open. Higher speed 'freezes' action. Slower speeds, when combined with panning, give a sense of motion to a still frame.
    • Aperture Aperture is the hole light passes through to reach the sensor.

Together, they control exposure. You need all three but usually you will only adjust shutter speed and aperture once you've set the ISO.

How you adjust them depends largely on what you want to achieve with your photograph. If you want to freeze action, choose a fast shutter speed. If the exposure is under, then you'd adjust ISO or Aperture to correct the exposure. If you want to separate your subject from the background, you'll open the aperture--probably as wide as it will go. In this instance, you would adjust shutter speed and ISO to make it happen. If you want to control aperture and shutter speed (say you're shooting a small kid), then you will want to make sure shutter speed is high enough to freeze the kid and get the separation you want.

Of course, these are general guidelines and each situation is different.

Hope this makes sense and is helpful.
