I highly suggest you go a print out vast quantities of monopoly money. This fucker will never know the difference.

I would try for a '91 or newer since that is the first year for the H.O. 4 liter I6. Also, he doesn't list a motor size and I would definitely walk away if it was a 2.8 liter V6.

What about this one? And is there anything wrong with the 2.8's? Or are they just rubbish

I would walk away from that... looks shady as hell. My step dad had a 90 Cherokee.... that thing had more problems and found itself on jack stands getting that stupid hydraulic clutch worked on than it did on the road. The brakes on it were constantly being worked on too.

NEVER buy the 2.8 unless you're looking for a boat anchor.

I'd advise against buying one with the 4cyl too. They barely move a Wrangler as it is.

    1. Find out when the head gasket was done.
    2. See if the timing chain has ever been done.
    3. Ask if the the transfer case has ever had any work done. If not it's probably due for a chain soon.
    4. Check all the door jambs and hinge points for cracks. It's a unit body and they flex until they crack.
    5. Find out when the last crank sensor was replaced. If never, do one right away when you get it.
    6. Ask when the ball joints and track bar were last replaced. Jack up the front end and check for looseness.
    7. Ask when the wheel bearings were last done.
    8. Check out the rear axle for leaks. They seem to need axle seals every 80-100k miles.
