Snapped Belt--Still OK To Drive?

    I was checking random stuff on my truck today and I found a snapped belt just crumpled up resting on the skid plate. OOOPS! :eek: It looks like I've been driving it like this for months from the amount of mud/dirt on the empty pulley's. I'll be replacing it asap, but is it ok for me to keep driving in the mean time? I'm assuming so, but I'm curious as to why I haven't really seen any effects of this broken belt.

    On the belt it says: DENSO 91840-D8708 BANDO 4PK870 >CR<

    Looking down to the 3 wheels it's supposed to be on:

    No theres an AC belt too. I was at a friends and my truck sounded funny so I opened the hood and found mine just sitting on my skid plate too. Ive been driving all winter without it

    wow haha must be on first gens only cuz from what i understand on 2nd gens theres an ac pulley, idler, water pump etc. and just one belt running everything. back to the ops question: is it safe?! i just totally thread jacked :p my bad!:cool:

    Not sure. I was hoping someone on here knew. :eek: It sounds like it could be the AC belt though.
    Hmmm... this sounds like it could be the same thing. My AC doesn't really work either. lol
    haha No problem, man. If it is the AC belt, I'm assuming it's fine....

    that is your ac belt. I can't believe you've been driving around in this oven heat without AC!

    Lol I know, man. Opening all the windows and sunroof only gets you so far. :eek: Now I know why it hasn't been working though!!! :D
