I have an ARB on a 2006 Tacoma 2.5 inches of lift and 285 70 17 tires with 4.5 backspacing ,and no sway bars. I am rubbing the bumper pretty bad at full flex any body else had this issue?

Everyone with an ARB front has that problem. Most end up trimming the ARB bumper...

I had a small amount of rubbing with my 285s. Cut it back for 315s. Just cut it with a cut off wheel and touch up with a flap disc.

No they don't, but they have tons of other issues, like weakness.

Go with Relentless Fab if you need something now, or wait for the new Armor Tech Offroad front to show up in the next month or two.

Afraid to spend 30 minutes to do a simple cut on both sides? You'd rather go spend another $1K and get a new bumper?!

Not so afraid of anything , I like some bumpers better but dont care to ruin the powder coat on the bumper by fabbin it up ,shouldnt have to on a 1000.00 bumper anyway. Hows that for a reply to your smart ass answer?

Actually, it was a real question - not being smart ass. You must have taken it the wrong way by me asking the obvious.

But since you want to be a smart ass - I guess I have another question for you. Do you even wheel your truck?

Sounds like you should be in the my vagina hurts forum because you are worried about the powder coat on a bumper that is used for jacking, winching and sliding. :quickdraw: The ARB bumper was meant for our truck with the stock tire size. When you change stuff (go with bigger rims/tires) you have to make it work.

I agree you should not -have- to cut. But when it comes down to it and your choices are to tape off a small section and cut it off, or spend another thousand dollars on a bumper, you better be damn rich to make the second choice.

That was my point exactly! And I dont think its being a smart ass to state the obvious.

If he was on a stock truck with stock tires (what the ARB was DESIGNED for) then yes you should not have to cut. Fact of the matter is he is running a larger rim/tire combo and who knows what lift. So he needs to make his decision to go to a larger tire work - so he either cuts or drops a G on a new bumper that may or may not rub.

ARB wasn't meant to run 285s. You want to run 285s cut the damn thing, get rid of it, or live with the rubbing. You won't ruin the powdercoat cutting it. I just took a flap wheel, cleaned up the cut, take a file as well maybe, tape off the edge and hit it with some semi gloss to match.

Don't be so hostile here and you'll have a better time.

Luckily I haven't had any rubbing on my ARB yet, just on the inside of the wheel well. I think a cab mount chop is in my future. If I take my swaybar off and I have rubbing I won't hesitate to make a little cut. There's no way I would go buy another bumper when I can fix the problem myself.
