    The slave lake areas gotten the most media attention because people lost their homes, not alot on the northern areas yet, still just taking out trees and causing localized evac's. nothing important up heres burned yet

    Had our DCM when I was at Eielson move to March AFB in Ca. He moved back about 6 months later... said he hated getting up and knowing how the weather would be every day... :crazy:

    I did - saw the one of the city hall (?) building on fire and charred neighborhoods.

    Been up in that general area once and all I remember seeing was trees....miles and miles of trees...so its easy to see how a fire could get out of hand.

    Thats canada for ya, with so much land and only 36ish million people in the whole country, Nothing but trees for a looong time, last i heard, 1200 firefighters we're brought into alberta to help. worst fire season in my lifetime thats for sure
