How fast can you get your tacoma?

Somewhere between 100 and 105. Never again.

 

105-106. I'd do it again if given the chance. I got my little 91 corolla up to about 107-108 before. Needless to say, I wasn't getting 30mpg out of that voyage. Had to slow back down to 80 because the engine temperature was getting dangerously high at that speed for so long.

 

90 gets a little scary...but 108 was the highest.

 

Just a reminder, radar detectors don't do squat against pacing, instant-on or laser speed detectors. With instant-on or laser, the detector pretty much just tells you you were caught. They also don't tell you about the deer running for the road or the person turning left who's misjudged your speed. It isn't so much the truck lifting off the ground that would concern me. It's how well will you handle an emergency situation should it suddenly arise. At 120 mph you're travelling at over 176 feet per second. By the time your brain registers a problem and your body starts reacting you may have travelled 350 feet before you even start slowing down.

Aerodynamics not bad with a bed cover. triple digits very stable. Not unlike a 6g turn in a soviet fighter when you're in the groove. Like slipping a gerber between the 3rd and 4th ribs.

Ive had mine to around 90. Im sure its good for more from what you guys have said but with the lift and load range d tires, its not a pleasant ride past 80. And the rpms are pretty high. 6th gear is not that high so its really winding up at 85-90. Its ok tho on the mass pike im usually 65-75. If I wanted to go fast Id get a 350z

I hit 90-95 daily. Handles great but I have to watch my speed because I get use to the 90 and then 70 feels like I can get out and push faster. Topped the Taco at 108.

I did get pulled over in Utah just west of Salt Lake City a few years back for doing 134 in a 240Z.

I have had mine up to 110. It felt like it had some left over. Never just firewalled it and stayed there. Maybe when my seven other tickets drop off.

 

I agree too, but you have to open it up once in a while. If you are just going to toodle around in the slow lane all the time get a 2.7.

 

The fastest I've had my Tacoma is 105 but i've had my Viper up to 170.
