Yup. Nothing there to worry too much about. Its a result of 10 years of sloppy oil changes. That area is directly below the oil filter. when jiffylube (or original owner) changed the filter they never went back and wiped up the drippings that resulted from the removal process.

I'm betting that side of the skidplate had some gook on it too...

No. No experience with removing and painting the flares. I've read that its a good idea to have a bagful of those clips though.

As for the clips, just take your time pulling them out and you should be good, i broke a good many but saved enough to put about 4 back on each flare and it holds just fine, you have to spin them inside the bodypanel and they come right out!

Are you putting the fan on a four or six? I am curious how its going to effect your gas mileage. Would you let us know what you paid?
    Please, please, please?

I am putting it on a six cylinder and I paid 287.00 for the hole kit shipped through Amazon.com. And I sure hope it helps with gas but I will let you know.

Did you use the Aerosol application or roll on? I want to do this this weekend to my fender flares and bumpers as well. How did you prep the surfaces especially curious about the bumpers.

I looked under my 02 during my work break a while ago and all I saw where screws holding them in no signs of clips. So I would imagine your 01 is the same as his 00 and my 02
