Anyone have pics of a Taco with its resonator removed? I like my Taco to have a deep roaring sound . Were exactly are the resonator located? I see two on each side of the pipe before the y. Which exactly is the one to delete[IMG]

and not that im cracking on the the truck we all own and love, but tacomas just don't get that "deep roaring sound" really no matter what you do to them. . . certain mufflers will make them sound better, but if you cut your cats out it will just sound bad. these aren't 327's we got under the hood ya know.

yeah i worked with a guy who had a 1st gen with the 3.4. in true redneck fashion after splitting the pipes and putting on flowmasters, he swapped them with glass packs, then cut all cats while keeping glass packs, then he just went to nothing between the engine and the chrome tips but space, fumes and lost backpressure. it sounded like a bee in a beer can everywhere he went. it was just bad.

I know I chopped mine for off-roading purposes, not for the sound. (The tip can get crushed on rocks and stuff.) It's also kind of a clean look without the pipe visible. I'd reccomend it actually, especially if you do a lot of off-roading.
