I can't for the life of me find the list of the codes and what each means. If anyone has it or knows this code offhand i'd appreciate it.

Im thinking it's going to be the clock spring/spiral cable as its seems to be a common issue, but none of the threads i saw included what code they had prior to replacing it.

If, im on the right track does anyone know how to test the clock spring/spiral cable to see if it is the problem ( i know i have to take apart the steering wheel, i've done it b4 on other vehicles in school)

    It's not the spiral cable.

Code 14 is a Front Airbag Sensor, Left Hand, Circuit Malfunction.

It's caused by the left side airbag sensor, the center airbag sensor assembly, or the wiring between them.

It's set if the center airbag sensor assembly sees a short, an open, a short to ground, or a short to battery voltage on the wires to the front left airbag sensor.

There are good instructions on how to troubleshoot Code 14 in the FSM here:

so, now i am getting code 14 and code 13... but both LH/RH circuits are within spec's (resistance, and voltage with key on) ... im not really sure where to go from here, i went through all of my wiring for both circuits. Every inch of both of the circuits looked free of any damage to the wire's.

According to the repair manual, and my best guess would be that the center airbag sensor is bad. But it says to replace it and see if it works, and then if it doesn't to replace both of the front impact sensors.

I can't find any info on this happening to anyone else... There is no visible damage to the sensor itself, or the 2 front sensors.

The day that this light first turned on, was right after i washed the truck (got code 14). Now since then i have washed it again (now i get code 14 and 13) so i'm almost leaning towards both sensors being bad.(which seems really unlikely for them both to go at the same time like this)

sorry for the rant but im not really sure what to do or where to go from here... im going to try and get to a dealership and attempt to talk to a diagnostic tech about this.

Maybe there was water inside the sensors or in the sensor plugs or sockets.

Only posting in case someone searches for this code and see's and see's this thread.

My Light was on and off every other time i drove it for a day or 2, and it has been off since. I don't know what i did or if it was a fluke, but its off. I don't think the issue was water because i have driven it in the rain since then without the light coming on.

lights still been going on and off on me since i posted this, sometimes longer gaps in between lights than others. I brought it to Toyota a few weeks ago and they couldn't figure it out. Me and my friend worked on my truck for about an hour today and I'm pretty certain we fixed it. It turned out to be one of the crash detection sensors in the front bumper. Lights turned off right away with the new sensor installed.

I had the exact problem as described above by TheHansen and his solution worked perfectly for me as well. For anyone wanting the instructions for how to resolve this issue, I have documented them here.
