PIAA Question

I have searched for an answer but haven't found one yet...I just installed an All-Pro bumper and mounted PIAA fog lights to replace the stock fog lights. I need to wire the switch to a power source and I want the ability to turn on the fogs with just the driving/parking lights on. I looked at the DTRL mod but it refers to stock fog lights. My question: Can I tap into the driving/parking light and where should I do it? Thanks for any help...

My son did the wiring on my Hella Black Magic lights a few weeks ago. He tapped into the green wire of the amber parking light on the side, right behind the headlight housing and ran that to the relay.

When wired this way, I can turn on the driving lights without having my headlights on. And, if I forget to turn them off, they will go out when I turn off the truck, so no dead battery.

Well I actually taped it up completely. But when you pull the lamp assembly (in the upper corner of the headlight) there are two wires. One is white with a black stripe (-) and the other, green in my case is (+)...I clamped onto the green wire.

 

or you can just wire them up to a switch and have them on whenever you want. and whenever you turn the truck off they turn off.

 

The wire colors may be different in your model year.
