heater relay??

Im having issues w/my heat still.I have changed the thermostat and coolant,thinking they were bad cuz the lower rad. hose was Ice cold and the
upper was smokin hot. no help still no heat.the temp guage stays just a hair above the cntr.I pulled the lower cntr console to get a look at the cable and the mixer servo and when i moved the controls on the console (temp and vent) nothing moved.same with the gate valve that sends coolant to the heater core.both lines are hot there(in and out) but nothing moves.is it a fuse? the heater relay? anyone??

 

Is the blower fan working?

There's a 50A HEATER fuse and a heater relay in the engine bay fuse / relay box. These seem to be involved with the blower, not the air mix or other functions.

However ... If the dash controls don't cause anything to happen, it's more likely to be a fault with the electricals (A/C control circuit panel behind the dash controls), or maybe a wiring fault somewhere.

 

yeah the blower works but not great. the truck is kinda tired 345,000 mi.I got it cheap
the guy had a efan in it that wasn't working so I pulled it and replaced the OE fan.NOw I'm thinking I need to power somthing up that I took power away from when I took the efan out. did that make any sense? dol you know what those two black boxes uip highg on the firewall are??

Did the dysfunctional electric fan unit have a thermostatic controller? If so, I'm wondering if it was somehow hooked up in a way that might have interfered with the cooling / heater systems. I doubt it; I've never heard of such a thing before.

Without knowing the details of how the e-fan was wired up, there's no way to tell what might have been messed up by removing it.
