    So, I am fully aware of the lean issue on these tacomas due to all the heavy crap on the drivers side, including driver. When I bought the truck it was a full inch lower on the drivers side. Soon after my truck purchase, I bought OME 881's for the front, and kept the stock leafs in back with an AAL. The new front springs didnt help at all. I contimplated for a while to do the trim packer or not, but given they only do 1/4" max I thought I needed new leaf springs. Well, I just got my new OME dakars installed and it was still an inch lower on drivers side. I then flipped my front coilovers (passenger to driver, driver to passenger), thinking the front springs had settled into their designated position. Didnt help at all. So my last effort, I just ordered and installed a 1/4" top plate spacer from wheelers to put in the drivers side. I am still 3/4" lower on drivers side. I am 100% positive I put the correct leaf spring on the correct side when I installed Dakars. Any thoughts? Its slightly annoying :rolleyes:

    make it happen ;p


    FWIW, the block fix is an actual fix used by lowered guys to fix the lean, since the 5 lug is spring under axle, blocks lower it so your passenger block is whatever inches you need taller, usually around an inch or so.

    a 3/4" block wont cause any probs it'll just lift that part of the suspension higher to make everything level

    Anybody else got any comments? The dakars are supposed to have a drivers lean compensated arch....and I have a spacer in the driver coilover. Not really looking into any more block or spacer "fixes". The way I have it, it "should" be sitting higher on the drivers side. I don't have any abnormally heavy items on drivers side. Only thing outta the ordinary is a shell with a windoor on drivers side, which shouldnt be any heavier than a regular slider window.

    As for the tire pressure comment....please don't assume I'm an idiot

    Also, for those of you wondering; no I do not weigh 300lbs =)

    is this a manual 5-speed issue? i've never heard of this problem. nor have i noticed it on my own vehicle.

    Yes, 5 speed. And it's quite common, though shouldn't be with mine given the above mentioned compensations.

    If you buy something that should do something and it doesnt, contact the company you bought them from saying their claim doesnt hold true.

    Well I talked to Greg at Wheelers today (where I bought all my stuff) and they too were perplexed, said they've never heard of any lean with the components I have. Now I'm thinking QC on ARB/OME is lacking. Will be calling them tomorrow though I have to say, going through all the removal/install work will likely yield me complacent to the issue...

    nothing, all stock expect got a OE replacement air filter K&N.
    i too still have the lean after the 1/4 top plate spacer. I'm thinking about getting the 1/2" inch spacer with the longer studs. my only way to get the driver side level again.
    the lean is bothering me after the lifts.

    I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
    My Expos helped my lean if i had one I never noticed it I'm sitting at 27" center of the hub to the fender well that was with stock I'm not sure if the bushwhackers add more clearance at the top.

    I have the dakar pack too and I driver's side lean as well. I have adjustable toytec coilovers up front. I have them set at just about level up front and I still have the lean...

    Toyota was nice enough to give me a new frame. JBA cat-back, aFe dry drop-in w/ deckplate, Bilstein 5100's all around, Timbrens, Alcan 5-leaf packs, OME 881's, linear clutch pedal return spring (best $3.49 I ever spent)
    I have the EXACT same problem, though I haven't gone for the spacer yet. I need to call Wheelers. If this is such a common problem, why haven't the manufacturers engineered a fix in the replacement equipment design? I didn't realize Dakar did this, though it didn't seem effective for NegroTundra. Was there a solution?

    my solution was to forget about it....if the tank is 1/4 full or less its level. Otherwise it's leanin.
