hey guys, i have been having a lot of trouble losing weight, i started working out a lot, i walk a lot now and bike ride, but havent even lost 3 lbs since i started 4 months ago...so my question is if i made a diet like this

Breakfast: oatmeal any flavoring and a fruit
Lunch: 1/2 cup of rice with some sort of vegetable
Dinner: lean chicken strip with half a cup of rice.

this diet is kinda based on the rice diet but with more protein, would this work on getting my lbs down quicker with the exercise that i do?

Higher intensity cardio, and eat several small meals a day instead of starving yourself and falling back on snacks. There's no way I could survive on rice and broccoli for lunch lol

you're going to be hungry every day with that diet... you need to just eat enough healthy food so that you won't be starving while not being stuffed at the same time

yeah that diet will leave you always hungry.

    your breakfeast is good.
for lunch i'd say grilled chicken salad, or just grilled chicken and a potatoe.
dinner could be any type of lean meat and veggies. then a workout after dinner

i dont really go overboard on what i eat, but i think i do have a slow metabolism, could that be the reason for the slow weight loss?

all of these ^, you should be making a diet of healthy foods you like, not tailoring it to a few specific things. To much of the same foods and you WILL get bored of it and stop doing that diet. Change it up with different healthy foods that you like, and don't be afraid to try a new kind of food.

dont be so worried about eating up the protien, I am vegetarian and dont even worry about protein. with a well balanced diet you will achieve more then your body will ever use in a day.

    remember 3 things

    1) excess of anything will be metabolized and turned into fat
2)running/cardio stuff burns starts to fat only after 30 minute, so if your running or biking for a hour your only burning fat for 1/2 a hour
    3) i know you just talked about biking and cardio stuff, but weight lifting burns mostly SUGAR

A combination of both weights and cardio will help alot. Run-weights-run again, a great workout if you do it right. also try swimming, very easy in the joints

I can get you more stuff on dieting if you want in the morning, but i dont feel like going through all my stuff, still all pack up from coming home for summer today haha

    hope that helps

yeah thats some of it, alot of it comes from cardio though, like running or jogging, biking, and swimming.

walking doesnt always cut it because your most likely not getting your heart rate up and breathing pretty heavy.

thanks man, nice to know i have motivation right at my fingertips, it feels good, now just have to shed the lbs.....and im talking like 60 lbs too, im just badly overweight partly because the football coaches at high school kept telling me to get bigger and bigger to take up more space (but im only 5'5" -_-), so i became pretty unhealthy, i was at 230 beginning of senior year of high school, now im 219, so im getting somewhere at least just slowly
