3" ToyTec lift w/ Med Front Coils & Rear AAL. Who likes it and who doesn't?

it rides like ish... you'll be happier if you save up some extra cash and buy new shocks.

 

Got any pics of what exactly had to be trimmed. I'm not much for cutting on a fairly new truck.

 

I can take a picture when I get home. It's just the inner bottom part of the plastic fender flare. My dremel cut through it like butter...

 

Same here. I can take pics as well when I get home. I also used a dremel as well to trim up a little more after I got it home from the shop. Very easy to do.

I was the same way but that piece you cut off is really thin and won't hurt anything!

 

so you had to cut part of the fender flare and some of the black plastic also? Its a little hard to tell....I need to go look at my wheelwell....and get another budlite

I remembered when I lifted my Jeep XJ and I put on the Bushwacker pocket flairs, I read the instructions and thought "you want me to cut what"? Cutting the front fenders to fit the flairs was not that big of a deal, but making the vertical cuts in the rear fender then whaling on it with a hammer was a bit unnerving. Cutting the inner fender well (plastic) is no big deal, just do a little bit at a time.

 

so only cutting is black plastic in front of tire? No cutting behind tire....just remove mud guards, correct?

 

Yep, the best thing you can do is install everything then do clearance checks to see exactly where you may contact, I know of a few people that didn't have to trim at all.

 

x2... and I didn't have to trim with my Toytec stuff installed. when i went to the Camburg stuff, I had to trim a bit (where WW did)...

How do you like them? Since I'm 2WD I was playing with the idea of the Camburg spindles, I just don't like the way the front tires stick out 3/4" on each side. I like the idea of 4" of lift (I already have inch-itis and I haven't lifted mine yet)

 

Thanks guys for all the info on the 5100s, AALs and trimming. Learned a lot today....need to convince the wife now to let me spend the $. Gonna be tuff....just spent a grand on new stereo. As far as lift goes, I think I am gonna go with toytecs 885 coils, rear AALs, OME shocks on the front and run my 265 BFG ATs until there worn. Would like to add TC UPAs 6 months down the road. One more ? Can I run 285s on my stock 16" wheels with the lift? No need for a backspacer or other crap? Thanks again!

 

From what I understand the stock wheels will require spacers, someone will chime in if I'm wrong.
