A local dealer is selling a 2006 SR5 with TRD stickers. Carfax says this truck was rolled, so it was repaired/rebuilt I was looking at this for a friend who's looking for a TRD Offroad. Wouldn't recommend it since it's been rolled, but I was wondering if it's legit for the dealer to have TRD decals on this?

I believe they started taking off the SR5 badge in 2011, anything 2010 and previous will have SR5 even if it has a TRD package. I could be wrong though.

My 2010 4x4 trd sport has the SR5 badge on it.

I do know that when I bought my tacoma, I wanted thew TRD Sticker on the side becaused I think it looked a little better than a blank bedside. I told the sales guy that I wanted it added, and he said that he could sell me the sticker, but couldn't install it at the dealer because of a the liability of it. With that in mind, I would think that the dealer wouldn't sell it if it wasn't a legit TRD model. Although, it is a different dealer with some lesser standards than the one I do business with.

All of the TRD's OR's and Sports are SR5's. The TRD OR and Sport packages just build upon the SR5 package.

My SR5 came with TRD stickers. I suppose the previous owner put them on. I took them off though.

I wish I had known more about Tacomas when I bought mine, I thought it had the TRD OR package. I didn't join TW until after I bought it, then realized I was missing the locker, bucket seats, bed outlet, etc.

Check to see if it has all the upgrades of the Off Road package like the rear locker. An SR5 wouldn't have that. I'm pretty sure you can have an SR5 w/out the TRD but all TRD's have the SR5 package and are upgraded from there.

Oh well, I got a hell of a deal on it anyways.

One day I will add an ARB locker to it for the rear. I got rid of the shitty SR5 cloth anyways and have leather now so I'm happy with my interior. I can live without the bed outlet, compass, etc. That wasn't really important to me.

With the updated picture it has the rear locker so it is TRD. But overpriced for a rolled truck.

The only other thing you didn't mention was the TRD shocks. Do you have those?

well the locker only comes on the TRD OR, so if he's got that, he's got the TRD OR.

The bumpers are CHROME on a TRD Off Road... not what the photo showed. If it was a TRD Sport then it would have the hood with a scoop... also not what we see in the photo. So, it is neither type of TRD. Intersting if a Toyota rear locker is on it, as they are only sold on TRD Off Roads.

If you look again, the rear bumper is chrome and the grille is chrome, both indicative of a TRD OR...also black mirrors/handles and the typical alloy wheels on the OR. the final step is the locker button.

also just noticed it appears to have a grillecraft lower.
