Yeah regular 2wd, its nice tho. I wouldnt pay for it.... but id definetly whip it. Im trying to get some of those guys to wheel with me.

 

How's it going Will? How'd you do in your classes if you got your grades back? You taking summer courses?

You did a great job on both. I like the design on the guards.Those welds are impressive especially considering what you're using. Have you put the trailer jack on the new tongue yet?

So let me get this straight, you found a jeep that has portals and you failed to get a picture of the business end?

Last I checked, he still hasn't gotten the half shaft's from engage.

but thank you, i think it's just the fact that i've gotten so much practice on this trailer that i'm getting the welder really dialed in. i've almost gotten the technique down to where i can use the high heat setting on conduit without blowing through it. the high heat setting produces much cleaner welds.

haven't put the jack back on yet, but i guarantee you it won't bend like before. there's zero visible flex when i jump on it.

i apologize for not getting the good picture . i was walking to lunch with some coworkers, and i had already gotten funny looks for hauling ass out into washington dc traffic to take that picture.

good point....i think they're still having trouble getting them perfected. good company though for taking so much time to make them work properly though

Hey jason were you able to get the parts you needed?

 

I'm curious how you'd do on a higher end welder with more adjustability.

Speaking of parts, I ordered a Grom Ipod adapter. I wasn't home to sign for it today though.

ohh those, no I haven't ordered them. I'll probably get the flip kit but after thinking about it some more I'm not too fond of the idea of moving the axle with something that is essentially a small lifting block. I hammered the fender mount in a little bit so I'll see how it works next time.

 

that's actually one of the reasons i got the HF one. a guy i work with part time over the summer at a bike shop here, used to be a machinist and built custom race cars for years. i had many long discussions with him before i bought. even though i'd briefly used the real high dollar welders in our machine shop at florida tech, he actually recomended i practice on a HF welder. theory being what you said, if you can get good at that, you'll be able to use anything.

 

It would be fun to try out eachother's some time. I probably will really suck with your machine.

i wonder if when armor tech re-releases the new design of the shackle flip, if that would help you at all. at ride height, our shackles are pretty much straight up and down. when you compress the springs and they flatten out, the way the shackle moves, your rear wheels move towards the rear ever so slightly. with the shackle flip, the shackle sits at an angle at ride height instead, meaning when you flex, though you get more flex with the kit, your wheels don't move as far back since the shackle travels horizontally less, and more virtically.

hard to describe, hopefully you can picture it.

 

there are a lot of small things that effect how they behave a surprising amount. you'd probably get used to it pretty quick. you're welcome to give it a try next time.

 

I'll see what people say after they get them but I need the wheel to move back more. It rubs in the front. Or maybe I'm confused.
