And I thought a yaw was 2.86 and straight skid was 3.86....

I may be confusing stuff though, I only had a course on it, I don't do it for a living.

The minimum speed at impact equations are fairly accurate, but they are based on skid marks, so if you don't have skid marks, or an object that was ejected from the vehicle, they won't work. They are strictly minimum speeds though. There are much more accurate formulas but I've never worked any of them.

I do in fact have some training on it...however I'm not fully certified in collision reconstruction

From the courses Ive been through and real life work, on scene estimations are usually way off, however real recon work will bring the estimated speed to very very close to what you were actually doing

That being said, I havent busted out my recon materials in approx 8 months

It does matter because I was issued a citation.

I don't know if you ever been involved in an accident like this but some people are able to instantly and naturally react, I guess I am not.

Oh and the truck is totaled. I'll upload some pics soon.

Yeah, amazingly enough I walked out of it unhurt. As you can see by the pics, the Tundra's cab held up very well. It was pretty damn scary, that's for certain.

Could you fight a speeding ticket if the cop didn't see you speeding?I'm to lazy to read the whole thread to see if that was asked

Look, I still don't know what the hell happened. It was an accident, I don't know why I veered my truck over that fast but it happened. I think once my tire caught the curb it sort of grabbed the truck even further right. I'm sure you have made mistakes while driving also, am I right?

    Sorry but no

An accident is something that is uncontrollable

You were involved in a COLLISON that took you doing, or not doing, SOMETHING to cause your vehicle to careen recklessly across a sidewalk into 2 lightpoles

Does it suck for you? Sure...but unless something mechanically failed with your truck then you are at fault. period.

Nothin' like that dude! And any wrecks I've had in my life I knew why!Drinkin',fumblin' with the stereo, etc, when I was a teenager. But to post that you don't know means that you have a medical condition that requires immediate attention or you're retarded. So which one is it?

Oh I have never said I wasn't at fault. Certainly I am, no doubt. I just don't understand being labeled "retarded" or that I have some medical condition. I screwed up and took my eyes off the road, yeah it was extremely dumb, but it happened and it's happened to other people also.

I hope people reading this can take away that shit like this can happen at any moment, whether you think you're the greatest driver or not. I certainly would have never expected an accident, let alone one like this where there seems to be no reason for it.

Edit: Actually I was changing something on my stereo so if that's the "cause", then alright. I just don't get how I crashed because I have screwed with my radio countless times and haven't crashed.

Whew. After looking at those Pics, I'm glad you're OK and the biggest beef on your mind is getting or not getting a traffic ticket.

No opinion on the traffic ticket at all, but definitely an opportunity for thankfulness.
