I was reading a thread earlier about this guy worried about mileage. Hes got a 4 banger 4x4 and was getting 20-21mpg. My PreRunner gets about 21-22mpg. This alone had me screaming WHAT THE FUCK CANADA?!

Then a fellow Canadian claimed that the OP was getting shit mileage and that his 4x4 4cyl got around 24-25mpg and then there was a Canada fest about how awesome the mileage on their 4x4s is. And I proceeding to continue screaming WHAT THE FUCK CANADA?!?!?!?!?! until my brother came in the room thinking that I was having a seizure or something.

But in all seriousness, how the fuck do those damn Canadians do it?!

Nah, it's a crock of shit.

I've found that how you control the gas pedal affects the mileage more so than how you hold the steering wheel but whatever floats your boat

I wonder if the average American Tacoma driver speed is 75+mph on the freeways while the Canadian is more like 70+mph average. Even here in Oregon, where its a speed limit of 65mph, many people go 75, then go faster as some one tries to go 80 and its game on ..."5 more mph than you..." kind of game. Further, they may travel slower roads more often and average less red lights, maybe. In short more smoother and more consistent trips.

My favorite road game when i travel to my parents, at the east end of the state, is to count how many times the same vehicles pass me while i'm on I-84 for 210 miles, not in Portland limits , but the open/non urban stretch. Usually its 2x or 3x ,with an occasional 4. Total number of drivers doing this exceeds my memory, i keep track of 8-12, depending on how well they stand out. It seems people go too fast to make up time lost to pee breaks, then get more coffee to stay awake or something... rinse and repeat.

Driving habits, it determines how much oil you buy, aside from actual miles driven. Hell, it built Dubai at some level..... a monument to Americans offering their hard earned money for others to gain. GJ to Canadians if they average better mpg, it might be our own fault.
