If ya don't care, post up what you did in CS5. I have a terrible time reducing noise in CS5.

I played with curves in PS. I need a new background I know, its just a blanket I had, first time I've really shot photos like this with a model so it was just a quick throw up.

Yeah I know Im hoping to get that 50mm soon!

i have shot with the predecessor of that camera and it's amazing...

    although overkill for a hobbyist...

i would love to have it though for my clients that im shooting lifesize store signage for...

but, my 5D in RAW does suffice for 7 foot tall banners...

I don't know you need that for making life sized signage--if you want to stand right up to it, maybe but for the most part, your own eyes help you deal with huge prints (billboard sized) that are printed with fairly wide spacing.

It's a cool camera for sure.

Ah, I wonder what that huge amount of pixels does to the low light performance.

Printing huge billboards does not require huge resolution.

I need to look for the article that talks about resolution. Basically it says that resolution is important when you view a print up close. As the distance (and size) increases, your brain makes adjustments and basically connects the dots (so to speak). A good example of this is newspaper print. The resolution of the B&W papers is horrid but because you view the paper at arm's length, it looks OK. In a gallery, looking at a print of the same subject, you'd be much closer and the print a bit larger--so finer resolution is required.

The biggest point I want to make is when you talk about printing, you're talking about printer resolution as much as source material and obviously, without using something like Genuine Fractals to up-res an image, you will need adequate source pixels--so a 2MP P&S image is probably not going to work as well as a 12MP (a 50MP would work better) image would.

We'll have to wait until the trial starts (if it gets to trial) to see what the claims are but Nikon has a right to defend it's patent(s).
