Anybody know how to control an Ipod with the steering wheel controls? Just bought a 2011 TRD Sport and love it except i can't skip through songs with the steering wheel.

You should be able to . I was told when I bought my truck last week that all I had to do was plug it in to aux port and push the aux button on the radio and boom your in business. This is how it's suppose to work. Hope this works.

Thanks a lot for the posts, after some research I think Grom Audio is the way to go. Just ordered it and I should be able to install it this weekend.

I finally found 45min to install my GROM-IPD3 Ipod interface. Install was a breeze, the hardest part was finding a place to mount the Grom box. It works great, like it was from the factory. It was a great buy and for just under $100 well worth it.

Looks like the install is simple (saw a video of an '07 Taco, so I would assume its the same, correct?). Do you have the jbl 6-disc in dash changer? I have read that the GROM has issues with the 2011 units.

    Puckstopper -

I put some electrical tape on the end of 2 putty knives, put the knives at either end of the bottom of the AC controls lifted up slightly and that popped free. Then unscrewed the 4 bolts holding the head unit in and firmly pulled the head unit out. I do have the 6 disc JBL system and my truck is a 2011, I haven't had any issues, the dics up and down controls select which album the Ipod plays.

Did you order direct from Grom? The only 2011 Toyota product they offer is for the FJ.

I ordered the IPod interface yesterday, I asked GROM the same question. This was their response:

I believe there is no drastic changeover of the Tacoma from 2010 to 2011. It should work fine. In the event that unit is not compatible for you, we carry a standard 30 day return policy.
