I've got no issues with the right to keep and bear arms part of the Amendment (i.e.: gun ownership). Neither do the courts. It is still applicable, and I wholeheartedly support it.

Anyone who defends the 2nd Amendment as a right to prepare for violent overthrow of the government is delusional. When the 2nd Amendment was written, the airplane was 100 years from being invented. They had no concept of an aircraft carrier, Tomahawk missile, Apache helicopter, laser-guided bombs, etc.

You want to stand up to the US government under the pretense of watchdog militia? Good luck. Most likely, you'll be labelled a terrorist and dealt with accordingly. You think the military is on your side? They're not. Even if HALF of it was, what will happen then? Civil War? Over the right to bear arms? Not likely.
