You can also use the same method to turn it back on if you ever want to.

My '08 factory setting was silent. The manual for the Toyota alarm installed specifically states the above procedure I posted. It turns the horn on or off depending on your preference. No electronic beep.

Well, I tried that and now the truck will not start and you can't get in or out without the alarm going off!

Oh it"s definitely honking, the little blue LED that usually blinks once when the key is removed now blinks 3 quick blinks about every 5 seconds. If you try to get in or out of the car the alarm goes off. Aaaaaand, biggest pisser of all the truck has my car blocked in the garage so I'm F"ing stranded. I wonder if that guy would sell me back my Olds.....

You need to stand on one foot while you do it.

Yep! You were right. I stood on one foot while I disconnected the neg. Battery terminal and like a frozen Dell it re-set the security and now the truck will start and no more alarms. The FOB however still makes the horn honk along with the flash of the turn signal lights. I'll have to do some more research on that later. Thanks for all the help.

This is from the "Remote Keyless Entry Upgrade Security System" that's in my '08. The off position for the switch is out. Good luck.

OP if you sell your truck can I have the In-N-Out fry under your seat?

Yeah, I just bought this truck a month ago and the owner's manual doesn't mention anything about any honking while locking so I'll try the dealer. I left a message with a service mgr. at one dealership but he blew me off and no call back. Thanks

Two questions, what do you mean by the LED Light Switch and that the "off position" for the switch is out?
