Just installed it, and I will say it was a bit more time consuming then I expected and a little more work then I expected as well. Heres a few pics if anyone is ever wondering how hard it is
Heres the package. Thanks to "paintdiddy" who bought it for me and shipped it because the company wouldnt ship to Canada. +1000 to him!
Here it is messy custom white grease all over it
    [IMG]
    Tailgate cover off
    [IMG]
Unbolted the camera, just 2 10mm bolts
    [IMG]
took both hangers off. Just pulled hard on them and popped off
    [IMG]
    Old handle
    [IMG]
Have to take camera off the stock bracket. 2 tiny screws
    [IMG]
fit camera back into new handle
    [IMG]
Install small screws that come with new handle to hold the camera on
(i had to also drill out the two small holes a tiny bit to make it fit perfectly over the tiny studs)
tie wrapped the wire so there was more slack to fit the other side
    [IMG]
    FINISHED PRODUCT!
All in all I will say Im a bit disappointing in the fitting and quality of the handle. More pissed at Toyota for being dumb asses and not putting one in stock. You have to think their goal was to see if they could build the worlds leading truck in tailgate theft

What site did you get yours? I've been trying to find them under $60-$50 and might just call toyota if they can get me a deal on it.

Looking at your pictures, it looks like you forgot to install the gasket from the old handle onto the new Pop & Lock. It does have a better fit with it installed.

what gasket? I put everything on from the old one I could find. I might look it over again though. I was getting pretty annoyed with it near the end

Thin plastic piece that covers the whole inside edge of the original latch. It should just pop up after you run a straight edge under it. It has the two arrow type clips and is attached to several posts on the handle. I have noticed that a couple of people here have left this step out when doing their review/install guides.

Thanks guys. Love doing little writeups no matter how small the upgrade. I usually always look for them myself after I buy something just to make sure I understand it all and an 100% comfortable with it

It looks like it in your picture. Remember this is on the stock unit, and then installs on the PL5300 in the same manner. It's a tight fit, just like your issue with the cam bracket.

ya just found it now. Might have been nice to have, who knows. Im more unhappy about how the camera fitted into the handle, and how cheap it looks. Like they said though, does the trick

Other than the tight fit of the cam mount bracket, I find the fit and look of mine pretty comparable to the stock unit. I know that some have found it weak feeling, and flimsy, but I gather that that issue was addressed with product made starting last year.

lol yes the website does look cheap but it is cheaper than what other people are offering. 50 bucks for it can't really beat that when others are $60+

If I remember right, the gasket is more like a piece of solid plastic and not just the thin outline of the shape. It serves as a gasket but looks different than what I'm used to seeing as a gasket.
