So I broke my trailer plug on my truck a few months back, and yesterday i went into my local friendly dealer to get a another one. First the guy needed my VIN in order to be able to find the part, HUH??? Then I am told that you have to buy the whole wire harness that includes the plug in the back, and by the way that'll be $234. UH NO, I will screw my self before buy that. So does the plug come apart and can I buy it separate for low dollars?

    crazy dealer!

Hey, I actually posted a thread on this. Go to a Honda parts store on line and look under the Ridgeline... Same plug but also includes a 4 pin... just need a little saudering skill to get that one to work. about half the price

you can buy individual parts rather than the whole damn thing which is what Toyota makes you do... It's the EXACT same harness

Just go get a 7 pin from and auto store and wire it up... Pretty universal!
I would get one like Below ($29.95) Cut the wires and then just wire it into your truck!

Wow! $234 for the 7 pin! The wiring harness for the 4 pin is only $40. I'm glad my boat is the 4 pin.

I'm in Cleves, about 5 minutes off of I-74. I pass through Amelia a few times to go to the Starlite Drive in. Easy way to see the movie with the kids.

I just finished relocating my trailer harness to the bumper by the license plate. I saw the mod, before I ripped mine off, but I didn't do it soon enough. Therefore, I couldn't use the factory one. I wasn't going to get robbed at the dealership, so I scouted around until I found a nice one with a seal on the door. The colors of the wires were different, so I crossed them over. It came out nice, and I won't tear it off any more.
