    I bought a Chebby S10 from Oregon a few years ago. Since it was a truck and considered a commercial vehicle I had to get it weighed and then inspected at the DMV office. IIRC I think reg for the S10 was $85 and the scale place charged me like $20. This was back in 2004 though.

    You also have to pay sales tax on the purchase price so make sure you write the documents up for like a $1000 sales price.

    Has the truck been smogged?

    Yea that's wat sal told me to do about the $1000 thing. And I asked him if it would pass smog he said yes and it also has a/c lol

    it's based off of how much the sale is of the truck, I believe it's 10% so for example i got my truck for $5000 i payed $500 for licensing of the truck, so ya since it's a cash deal you could technically write down $100 on the bill of sale and only pay $100
    i believe in california it has to be smogged within the last 30 days in order to register it, so ya like gavin says make sure he gets it smogged before you buy, it would be shitty to drive all the way home and have it not pass smog because of a cat that is bad which would be like $300 fix to get it passed plus what it takes to get it licensed

    Thanks Billy It is for the year has some dings and scratches but it's all good, just gotta register it in Cali lol. Hey anyone know if I can change my gauge cluster to have a tach also? all this one has is a speedo gas and temp gauge

    hello central valley Tacoma's, Just thought you would all like to know this weekend was good, changed the rear diff oil, fixed rusty tailgate cords, and even got the 10ft aluminum boat hooked up, we were all ready to go to Millerton, However the left light on the trailer wouldn't work. tried switching with 3 bulbs and figured out with a VOM that its at the truck. Nor the turn signal or the brake light work on the left side.Im thinking a good cleaning will help. Anyone ever had trouble with trailer electrical hook-up? Done a couple things to the truck, but nothing to do with wires.
