    i have a 07 axcess cab 4cyl 5spd. the truck has ben grindint goin into 2nd gear for a while now. ive took it to the dealer before for this and they drove it saying that to recreat the problem they have to really get on it. this is bs because it does it to me all the time i say the 2nd gear syncroniser is goin out and they just dont want to warranty it. the truck has almost 52000 and im the third owner if that matters any

    Not saying your synchros aren't going out, but the 5 speed manual in the 2nd gens is kind of notchy. There are plenty of folks who have similar complaints when shifting from 1->2 and from 2->3. The URD short shifter helps smooth it out.

    I would try the following 1st;
    1) Drain and fill the trans with new fluid
    2) Try Redline Trans fluid
    3) Replace the shifter w/ URD SS......I just happen to have an never installed extra one to sell if you're interested, PM me for specifics.

    Good luck,
