Ok so here's the deal i sold my truck yesterday (the 2wd in my avatar)

Now i can either get this 4x4 long travel TRD offroad or a 4x4 trd sport.
    Heres the list:
Ya'll have probly seen this one up: 2006 4x4 trd off road with long travel
only 30k miles, manual, only needs to have glass painted, spindle gussets and LCA bracket gussets. . could probly get for 22 or 23 grand

This 2005 trd sport 4x4 is so clean and has 78,000 miles, auto,
donahue coilovers, pro comp light bar ( probably take off and build my own)
I can get this one for 18 grand. .

I feel like the 05 sport is more practical for me since it would be a daily driver other than my streetbike when its decent weather and if i got the LT i would probably end up breaking stuff constantly from offroading hard and alot. . . give me your input Please !! also i have heard lots of not so good things about the manual transmission 2nd gens even on here in posts?

Yeah i knoww just not sure if its worth the extra 4 grand. . plus hearing bad things about the manuals. . . but i do like the TRD OR more than the Sport for the locker, but obviously the Sport looks way cleaner. . . efff i dunno!

I am with Whippersnapper on this one. Why buy someone else's mods? Could also be someone else's headache. I would go with the Black one. Seems like a good deal and turn key as well.

Personally, i'd buy a truck that's unmodded.. To me, it's like marrying a previously divorced woman with breast implants that her ex husband payed for. It might be yours, but you didn't pay for the work and made sure it was done right.. That's just me though..

    Also, X2 whatever Whippersnapper says....

the 2006 truck was built by DMZ... arguably one of the best fab shops around and has build countless top notch tacomas.

you'll have nothing to worry about. if you want a long travel truck, then buying an already built truck is far, far cheaper... i know this first hand.

if you buy it then it's your truck now... who cares who built it or owned it before?

also look into this truck. richer racing built, and fully caged... another top notch fab shop. the seller is asking for $16K... which is basically giving the truck away

more money left over leaves you more money for extra stuff

Is the 06' LT in the rear as well? If its only LT in the front, the 4 grand you save by getting the sport is almost enough to buy your own front LT for it.

out of the 2 trucks you posted... go with the DMZ truck for sure, especially if you know you want a LT truck

I would go with the 05 Sport unless you are going out to the dez and hitting 60 everyweekend. Any other info on the 05's suspension? UCA's? Leafs? Tire wear?

I would think you could het the 05 down even further if you are able to do a cash buy, not sure of your situation.

he was trying for 19 and i said 17.5 and hes said 18. . i think its a pretty good deal. . brand new bfg A/T tires , donahue coilovers, block in rear so i will replace with add a leaf. Other than that and the light bar its all stock.. and a 1" diff drop so the CVs arent all angled i guess

I dont mean to bash on the 4WDs but IMHO they seem to have more problems down the road like vibes, cvs breaking, having to get dif drops, people ruining their 4wd by using them improperly (they are delicate), but thats just me. Thats why i got a 2wd. I REALLY like the LT one and I dont think youd need to worry about stuff breaking too much since its got REALLY good parts. I do think the sport is a better buy. I cant tell if the LT tacoma is an ACCESS CAB or not tho. If it is, that would be a plus for gas milage. Its up to you tho. If you dont offroad that much and dont want to pay extra for it, then Id go for the sport, but if you are serious about offroading, id go for the LT. Youd save a lot on parts and labor and its got less miles. Check both out tho and see what you like more. It all boils down to your needs.

The LT is access cab but not as economical with 35's .
    It isn't regeared either. .
