Best rags to use for drying, wax application?

I cant find a good drying rag anywhere! I bought some micro fiber cloths a few weeks ago and all they do is push the water around and make big smear streaks.

what do you use and where did you get it?

links if you got em please.

 

love mine. (to dry the car after a wash) usually sold at autozone/kragen/walmart

 

I just use some cheap automotive shop towels from walmart. They don't smear like microfibers but rey aren't reusable

 

Sammys are a good option to. Use em all the time for swimming

 

dare I mention Shamwow?

 

Look at the waffle weave microfiber drying towels from detailedimage.com for drying and the all purpose microfiber towels for wax removal.

alright so im gonna try and find some of those "absorber" towels for drying. What about wax application? I have some of that Ice spray on stuff.

 

These things are awesome, I've had 2 over the past couple of years, and they dry autos like a champ!

Silly commercials, but ya they actually work pretty well!

 

I am no professional auto detailer...so dont quote me lol
but i use a microfiber pad on my buffer to remove the wax and tough to reach spots i use a microfiber towels from autozone. never had any problems with this method

 

the soda/carpet part is effin epic! haha

 

I have been using the absorber for over 10 years now, they work great.

 

well last time I tried to apply the ice with a micro fiber cloth all it did was push it around and smear it and leave streaks...it would never actually fade into to body panel so i could move on to the next spot. I ended up throwing away 6 brand new towels

 

i know autozone and walmart sell wax applicators...something like this or a circular one

I've been using a Carnauba gel wax...can't remember the brand...that is sold in AutoZone. Works great, goes on clear, dries clear, super easy to remove, a little goes a long way, and it holds through a number of washes afterward. It's in a grey squeeze bottle. If you're ever in the Zone, check it out. I'll tell you the brand name when I once I remember.

I use a small orbital sander with a foam pad it's the best way to apply wax to your paint then remove it with the microfiber towel.

This is the one I have it's light 50 bucks at Home Depot
