Hey Joe I went back out to that same area in Vernonia for some more exploring. I ended up exiting the roads into Scappoose!

I found a lot more trails, some just as crazy and a few that were a bit nicer. I avoided most since the muddy trails didn't have any good winching points, and the other trail I went on was supposed to be for an ATV and I had to turn around :p Here's some pics of an easy trail I took - poser flex shots!

How do you normally clean up your engine compartment after getting all that mud up in there? Or do you clean it ?

Springs seem to be doing pretty good. They provided enough correction that I don't rub anymore, heh.

I went out there on the 26th on a whim. Had to get away from the house. I'll have to go back some time with some of you, but it would be better after those trails have some time to dry - first, vehicles are really destructive to muddy trails, and it looks like the locals have been pretty harsh; and second, a little mud goes a long way (I'm sure Joe agrees).
I don't get real touchy feely about Eco stuff, but the area out there is pretty much clay and grass, so it erodes easy. If you look at TSF, the trails have roots, rocks, and is typically resistant in comparison. This area is owned by the logging company who doesn't really maintain anything they can't gate, so there's no repairs either. As it stands, many of the areas will most likely have us scraping bottoms with the ruts that are already created. Once things dry, our impact is lessened and we can still enjoy
One of the trails was an interesting powerline, though, that looked OK to do... I'll try keeping it in mind for the event after TSF

Engine is ready to pull on Saturday. It appears something is leaking on the back of the head. But nearly certain the rear main is leaking as well.

I'm going to pull it no matter what and just make sure everything else looks good and such. Shouldn't take too long.
