i have 99 ext cab with a body lift and i am kind of short. i would like some nerf bars but i hav read that it is better to just get rock sliders. i like the look of them but would it be stupid to have rock sliders on a 4x2 prerunner?

what would be a quality brand to consider? are they all priced near 250$. and do they work well as steps? in most of the picture's i can find you cant really tell. some look like they would work really great as a step and others look as if they barley come out past the under body at all.

Prerunner or 4x4, nobody likes rocker damage.

They look "cooler" than step rails too.

ok im checking them out and they look pretty legit. im asuming you 300$ tag was for the DOM tubing sliders, but would it be a wast to save myself the extra 50$ and get the HREW ones? and i wonder how much shipping is on these 90lb bad boys lol would it be beneficial to search for a closer vendor? im in california

yeah man i just picked it up a few weeks ago. i used to have a 01 reg cab prerunner when i was in Seattle. don't know how the F i ended up in this dump lol. i dont even have a damn locker though. so all i do so far is hit up the washboarded out trails lol but they do look bad ass and are the same damn price as nerf bars

plan for the future. sliders won't ever "not work" nerf bars keep nerf rocks from damaging metal, that being said....I need to buy some sliders

Rock sliders typically bolt to the frame, no?
And since you are running a body lift, there will be a big gap between the rails and the body of the truck. Might look kind of weird?

    TRD S/C 3" sky jacker suspension lift,33" kumho road venture mt kl71's 16" 320c pacer wheels,billet grill,EBC slotted and dimpled rotors,super 44 muffler with gutted cat,smoked l.e.d. tail lights, deck plate mod with K&N filter,fog/blinker mod,cobra cb with 4' firestick antenna/100W PA,clear corners with l.e.d bulbs,55w back up lights,urd O2 sim., blue l.e.d bulbs behind gauge cluster.
How much body lift do you have? and either way having a body lift would only make it easier for the sliders to be used as a step because most of them sit almost up against the body leaving minimal step space. but it might look funny:D but no matter 4X2 or 4X4 that wont make a diffrence as long a they serve a purpose for you.

On the 4x set. I'm sure the hrew are less. And the 300 was delivered parts plus delivery. Yes, they are very solid. I have Dom and have taken some huge hits on them, no issues.
