    so has anyone owoned a cherokee before???


    how good are these? 98-2001's with 60,000-85,000 miles???

    I had a '96. Engine and tranny were awesome. Had some electrical gremlins though.

    ya ive been looking at a few with 66,000-70,000. ones an 2000 and ones a 2001. the 01 wants 8800 but i think i can get it for about 7500. the 2000 want 7900( has 70,000 miles) but i think i can get that for about 7000.


    thoughts?

    I would test drive both if possible, get them looked over by a mechanic if possible, saves the hassle of a potential problem early on. Protect yourself in anyway you can.

    Both are super overpriced. XJ's just don't hold their value. In 05 I paid 8k for my 98 with 27k on the clock. I put a rubicon express 3.5" superflex kit on it and 33's. I'd take a taco with a few inches of lift, 265/75R16's and a rear locker any day of the week, on road or off.

    exactly.... i sell my vaule holding taco for some good money and buy a cherokee(generally cheaper) then i can build it up with the money i sell my truck for plus $2500(so roughly 11k to buy and build up a cherokee)


    then build my snowmobile up:cool: (going for 950+ cc's:D)

    ill say it jeeps sux.take the lift off ur truck throw a topper on it and there u go.ive had jeeps with the 4.0 and it suxed.both of them i had and they did work to well offroad and ive never seen any work good offroad.
