Did the drain and fill on my '05 automatic transmission the other day, and lost my crush washer on the drain plug. Noticed this morning that ATF is starting to weep around the drain plug due to said washer missing.

My dealer prolly won't have this in stock, and I don't want to wait a week for it.

Anyone have any idea what size the crush washer is on the V6 auto drain plug?

The dealer normally has the crush washers in stock. Or, you can use a copper brake banjo crush washer. Just measure carefully.

I've been to my dealer in the past looking for crush washers - the normally don't stock anything other than the ones for the engine oil pan. I'll get a quart of ATF WS tomorrow anyways, and if in a pinch will use the washer from the engine oil pan as a temp fix.

One dealer in your area should be smart enough to carry those washers. You're not the only guy who changes trans fluid. Call around.

Will let everyone know how it turns out.

Only one dealer in this town. The next closest is a 6 hour return trip.

If I wasn't stuck for a replacement, I wouldn't have bothered to post. None of the automotive stores that are open on Sunday had anything of value either.
