Is there a serpentine belt I can use to delete ac till I get it fixed. I was told at dealership that it's 3000.00 to get my ac fixed. The pump itself cost 1400.00!!

No.. They said that they can't just change the pump. They would have to change the air dryer and condenser. Then the rest was labor. I called car quest and napa for an after market pump and was told its only a dealer part. So I'm screwed for now.

The ONLY time I take any vehicle to the stealership is for warranty work. And then they will usually "find" other things that need to be fixed not covered by warranty. I do a lot of my own work and have a garage I trust for the things I don't have the tools or the know how to do.

My 05 TRD keeps throwing serpentine belt. It's running with 2 ribs off to the radiator side. Been through 3 belts before I realized ribbing (ain't to my pleasure). Still runs like a champ, though. But my ac light does flash when I turn fan on. ... and seems like power steering pulley may have play on bearing. Thoughts?

Running the defrost mode engages the ac pump.
I pulled the relay until I could do my compressor.

Don't forget to check your idler pulleys. If you have over 100K, you're likely to have one or more worn out bearings. The tensioner is a commong bearing to wear out. This happens to be the easiest bearing to replace.
