Oh ya I ran with a disposable waterproof camera. Tried to take pics of all the obstacles. Should develop those today

IT was a blast!! I did it in boots and Utes (thats cammies for the civilian populus). My calves are hard as bricks today. I think it should of been called tough hiker not mudder. It was grusome out there! The worst part, besides the hills, was the water obstacles. The ice pit made my lungs freeze. To any one doing one for the first time my advice would be to do lots of elevation and tempature training. I can run all day, but at 7000 feet not so much! It was a blast! DONT GIVE UP and DONT WHINE

my dad took all those pics, spectators could access alot of the course.

    it was a blast

dont fall next time fool. they hauled you off so quick, i tired to get you a beer but i turned around and you were gone.

    the bloody face pic rules

yeah man, we saw you MC guys. good job

there was hardly any mud, which sucked, but it's hard to make mud in the terrain, its all rocks and hard ass dirt.

my knees are killing me, my legs are so tore up from doing it in shorts

    thanks joe

my dad and his friend were at the bottom by the shock therapy when the first dude finished. i think they said his time was around 2 hours 30 min

That's so badass. Congrats on pushing through the whole thing!

I can't wait for November to get here for the tri-state mudder. I was out on a bike ride yesterday and bumped into a guy wearing a tough mudder shirt. We got to talking and I found out he did the tri-state event last November. Apparently it's a 12 mile jobbie but it's relatively manageable because it's mostly flat. The hills are all on the motocross track and are mainly difficult because of the firehoses dousing everything during the event.

Compared to you guys running up and down ski slopes, this will be a walk in the park. Providing all goes well with this year's event I'll enter the mudders in PA and VT to get those hills under my belt.

I'll feel like less of a mudder if I don't suffer the same way the rest of you are!

OMG dude... those of us who did it on sunday suffered for sure.

we had a high of 37 deg and a low of 10 up on the mountain, plus windchill.

the saturday event was almost 80 deg that day, not a cloud in the sky, no wind. it was beautiful. haha

our course did not have much mud at all, but thats beacuse CA is so rocky... hard to make mud out of hard dirt and rocks. every time we had to low crawl it was through gravel and rocks... that was fun. my knees are torn up

you're gonna love it man. i already want to do it again really bad

I did the NorCal TM last year with guys from work and had a blast. I will be there Sunday this year. I'm doing the Tahoe Big Blue Adventure Race (15-20+ miles mountain biking, 8 miles Kayaking on Lake Tahoe and couple of miles of hiking) on Saturday. Anyone who can run a few miles and has some determination can do the Mudder.

is he doing the CO mudder?

if your in decent shape and have the determination to finish no matter what, he'll be fine.

it's mostly mental because it puts people in an element they are not used to: cold, wet, dirty and challenged with completing tasks (obstacles) that you can't really prep for in the gym

basically he needs some good upper body strength, endurance and conditioning and the desire to be challenegd, have fun and raise money for our wounded service members
