Hey guys. I have a flowmaster dual exhaust with a super 44 mufler. I recently started haveing a problem with the exhaust rubbing on the frame near the end. I thought this might be a good excuse to chop the exhaust just before the rear axle as I've wanted an exhaust like that for a while. Do you guys think that would work out ok or woul it have problems? I would try moving the pipes to fix the problem, but they are rusted together.

Go for it. My exhaust is chopped and I've had no problems.

I had the Flowmaster 50 series dual out. After rubbing issues, I chopped it right after the muffler and just put on two downspouts. Sounded very nice and actually looked cleaner than having the dual tail pipes.

If you hear the chopping stop suddenly and very loud screaming, yelling, and swearing starts, something may have gone wrong.

A sawzall or an angle grinder with a cutoff wheel should do the trick.
