Dallas in July?

hey Texan TWers...

i may be heading to Dallas week of 7/6 for work...

what's the weather like around that time?

 

At or near 100 everyday, lows in the low 80s at night. At least tornado season will be mostly over by the time you get here.

 

Hot and dry. 100 degrees is pretty common.

 

And we have plenty of Dallas members if you are up for a beer or two.

Actually a lot of our Dallas members are youngins lol

i don't mind hot so long as it ain't humid...

 

No worries about that, it will be dry as hell

 

Turn your oven to 125 and let it get to temp... then stick your head inside. That is pretty close to a DFW summer if the wind isn't blowing. When the wind picks up it can be really nice.

 

The humidity can be high and really make it miserable. Even if the hear index is 110+ it's not that bad unless you work outside. Just remember to drink plenty of water even if your only working inside.
What part of Dallas are you going to be at?

I know the summer I spent in San Diego for basic training was by far one of the best weather summers I have had in my entire life. The evenings were cool, the days were warm and it almost never rained and there was always a breeze. It was a complete 180 degrees from hauling hay in the pasture in Texas.

I grew up in Dallas and dry it aint (East Texas Woods yes) its freakin nasty humid partially why i live in Colorado now. dry, sunny and never above 100

Well obviously I didn't mean it would be as dry as Colorado, but it's going to be way less humid than if he were going to ,say Houston.

 

well, packing right now... heading out there tomorrow...

i will be stuck wearing suits the whole week while on business, but i guess for my downtime, i will be cruising around in shorts and tee shirts...

is it pretty bad out there right now?

 

It was 102 here yesterday, 2 hours east of Dallas.

 

Don't forget the sunscreen.

What he means is it is par for the course.

 

Expect it to be about 100 give or take a few degrees. It is dryer than usual this year because of that el niño or la niño crap.
If you plan to do something outside swimming is about all that is bearable during the day. At night it's still really hot but not as bad.
