Damn, I wouldn't touch a 6.0 Powerstroke with a 10ft pole. I traded my 2006 6.0 just like yours for a my Tacoma, but now I bought a 16' Toy Hauler and need to get back into a bigger truck. I'm thinking I'm gonna be getting the 6.4L pretty soon. GLWS

Dude, I love the Ford f-250's and have owned 3, the last was the 6.0 and man what a nightmare. I regret still to this day buying that truck. I used to have a 7.3L and wish I never sold it. I wanted a damn Tahoe Z71, which was an awesome SUV, but I really needed a truck. Oh well, live and learn.

thats right.. traded the reg cab in the sig for the six o.. what a mistake..

and ya, i was thinking about a GT.. butttt that fell through lol.. it honestly is lookin like just a pos honda civic for like 3 or 4 grand.. easy./cheap to fix, and great fuel mileage..

get on my feet with bills and stuff, and then try and finance something a year or two from now

No offense, but I have no problems working under the hood of my 6.0..... maybe girls have more patience and smaller hands??

I get so tired of the drama over this stupid engine. what about shitty dodge trannies or injector problems on duramax, etc etc??? My point being I don't know of any vehicle that has been problem free for every single person who has owned one.

Because I own a 6.0 am I automatically going to blow my turbo and headgaskets? Because I own a DSM am I guaranteed to get crankwalk? Because I own a Toyota am I doomed to accelerate out of control? People and media have such a good ability to completely blow things out of per portion... I think most of vehicle failures are due to owners that beat on them, install canned tunes, do not perform proper maintenance, and/or are just plain ignorant to automotive stuff.

I'm not completely justifying the truck, because I do think that the weak headstuds are a problem that Ford should have recognized.

Sorry for the rant. Talk shit to me about my pos 6.0 now if you want, but in all honestly if I had to choose to sell it or the Tacoma, it would be a really hard choice.

The early 6.0's had head gasket issues but they were fixed after 04. The later 6.0's were sick...probably in the top 2 of the most badass sounding diesel motors.

I don't think anyone is dogging the 6.0 engine in itself, but it has been statistically speaking one of the most costly engines that Ford has had. It has them millions in warranty work. No one maker of auto's is trouble free. It was hard choice to get rid of my 6.0 for this Tacoma I have now, but now that my towing needs have changed, I'm thinking I need to move back into a bigger truck.
