Since Toyota seems to change things on the 7 year plans what are you hoping for the 3rd gen (2012) Taco?

City MPG rating of 25+ with a v6?

    Body style changes?

Based on what happened in the changes from 1st to 2nd gen Tacos what are you hoping?

    What am I hoping for?
    Diesel option
    Manual Transfer case
TRD O/R package to include SFA. But that will more than likely never happen.

What do I think will happen?
    More street oriented
    More electronic nanny programs

theyve already said no diesel havent they?
they got rid of the manual tcase in 04 (maybe) and definately in 05
I'd love to see it come stock with a SFA too...but i dont think they have a big enough market for said option

I think you'll see some styling changes along with a hybrid version...but past that i dont know that there will be a lot different...

a lowered 24" rim with spinners and lambo doors from the factory would be sweet....:smack::fenforcer:

i would love to see a diesel or maybe like a full offroad oriented truck. like the new svt raptor or the tacoma offroad concept.

Diesel, manual transfer case. I read that Toyota was getting away from special, niche vehicles, hence the discontinuation of the FJ. The article said they were going to concentrate on fuel efficiency, maybe a hybrid Tacoma?

I agree with you about the hybrid theory Delmar I think its Toyota and Lexus’s intention to offer a hybrid option through out there model line's. Toyota introduced the Toyota FT-EV all electric car at the Detroit auto show with the new gen 3 2010 Prius being also introduced Toyota projects to sell 180,000 Prius units in 2010.
With the Tundra sales falling flat on their face and with Toyota retooling a tundra factory to build hybrid’s that’s where their focus seems to be all about hybrid's right now. I don’t think Toyota is thinking about the Tacoma right now I hear 2013 might be the year for a new-faced Tacoma what change’s it will have who knows with all there work on hybrid technology hopefully better mpg.
