When it comes to tires Im more of a function guy than form. Even though I have a sports truck. More tire for off road = more grip. More grip is always a good thing.

More tire for me as well. I wheel and already break / scratch my 16" rims, LOL

I'm not too big on "today's fashion". Guess I'm getting old! I think it makes the truck look like a giant toy, which may very well be what they're going for!

to each their own, everyone's got an opinion, right?

    Oh Yeah!!!
I've only made it out offroading once in the past year, but will not trade the look of my 33's on 16's. Plus it's funny when you see an offraod truck that is quicker than the litle Rice burning cars and their 20's.

Dont get me wrong, I've seen some Tacoma's out there done right with Large wheels and good tires. Just got to find that balance. Dont do that 40 series low pro w/slim rims that will fold if they see dirt LOL.. J/K

But Yeah Meaty tires with good traction gives you the best of both worlds...

ok, most say more tire, so bare with me, i'm a noob...

i have a 2009 Tacoma 4x4 TRD Sport, has the 17" OEM wheels. I'm planning a 3" lift with new wheels and tires. Should I stick with the 17" wheel, or should I go to a 16x8" wheel with a beefier tire?

one thing to note: i do light to moderate off-roading, certainly nothing extreme.

    thoughts?

Gotta go with more tire, I think it looks better.

On a stock truck with stock tires, I think 20's look better than 16's, JMO.
