Hey Eric!! Got them today! :woot:!!! Guys at the Fab shop were impressed! I appreciate it man! BTW.. Got a question... When you shipped it "Bare Metal" Did you run a light coat of clear coat over top to prevent rust?

    Great, Kyle!
I dont do clear coat or anything. The only thing that would be on the bumper is a bit of anti-spatter spray residue from when welding it up.

LOL!! Sorry! Had to get to work.. Now i'm riding around with a tarp on them!!

Well i am getting the Hoop welded on tomorrow and then probably come Thursday i'll try to get a primer coat on it! LOL! Anything in particular i need to clean it with? Is it already prepped or do i need to do some light scuffing up? It looks pretty smooth...

Wire Brush, Lacquer Thinner wipe down, primer, primer again (if you want), then paint!

Edit: Do you want to take a picture of the inside of the rear bumper and post it up?!

Preciate the tip.. Got the wire brush but it looks like i'm making a trip to Lowe's for Lacquer Thinner, Primer, Primer, and More Primer (Since i'm doing 2 bumpers one being HC). Then Duplie Color Bedliner Spray!!! WOOT WOOT!!

BTW this is the only pic i got.. Took it right when i got them also..

Yea, make sure you get Lacquer thinner and not Versol (will work but not as well)...I had my bumpers p-coated because I got a killer deal, but otherwise I would've done similar to larry and done 3-4 coats of primer (automotive is the best if you can find it cheap) and 3-4 of Top coat and maybe a clear coat (depending on the look you're going for)

Automotive primer? What kind? I want a satin wet look.. I don't want a dull flat.. So i'll probably do 3-4 primer, 3-4 top, and 1-2 Clear!

I want to do the Line-X XS100 with a top protective coat but that'll cost me close to $600 for both front and rear! So i am just gonna say f%$k it and do touch ups more often then none! LOL!!!

Do Dupli color lacquer. It's glossy but not to glossy and it holds good with etching primer.

Does the hoop look like it is mounted correctly?
