20" enkei wheels tire size qusetion please help

I just bought some 20" enkei wheels from a guy off craigslist, Im not a big fan of the big wheels but I got a good deal on them but the tires are wore out and im going to have to buy a new set. Does anyone know whats the biggest tire I can put on them with out them rubbing? Its a 09 reg cab 4x4 truck. I dont like the big wheel low profile look on a 4x4 truck. Thanks for any help, Robert

not very big i say sell them for more and make some money and buy wheels that to want.

 

265/55 20?

 

Well that's if it's a 20/8 what is the width of the wheels?


if you have 20/8's these are about as big as you can go stock without rubbing.

20s with stock height will be some pretty low profile tires, if you dont like low profile tires i suggest flipping them (selling them for more) and get something more your type of wheel.

but i would think 31s would be the biggest

 

A few members on here run 285/60/18's on stock suspension, and the tire isn't tall enough (31.4") to hit the UCA, even with more than 4.5" of backspacing.

Therefore, you should be able to fit 285/50/20's if you so please.

Or you could run the aforementioned 265/55/20's if you prefer a taller, but skinnier tire.

These are the wheels on the truck. They have a 295/45/20 on it right now and do not rub. It has about 1/4 to 1/2 inch clearance.

 

man that's wide you might be stuck with that size tire unless you lift the truck. With a 3" lift you could do 295/55/20's that's about a 33/11.5

So from the tire size calculator it looks like 275/50 is going to be the biggest I can go with. If I go with the 285/50 and it does rub whats the cheapest way to lift it enough to run the 285s ? Thanks for all the help.

 

Yea its a little to wide. The 285s are .77 of a inch taller but .39 of a inch narrower.

 

I dont want to put a 3" lift on the truck. Isnt there some way to raise it 1" ?
what about some 5100 shocks?
If a 3" lift is the only way im going with the 275s.
The tires that are on it are slick as a peeled onion, Ive got to get some this week.

 

Yeah you can do 5100's at .85 or 1.75 to lift it just a little.


Also in that picture 295's are on the wheels right?

 

Are the 5100s only for the front? I looked on ebay and thats all I see for my year is the front shocks.

Ive been looking and I really want the add a leaf b/c when I pull a trailer it really lowers the rear end, but the add a leaf is 1 1/2" or 2" lift. I think thats going to be a little much? what do y'all think? I was kinda thinking about 1" on the rear. I dont ever use this truck off road and it is street driven all the time and average 100 miles a day, so I dont want any more lift than I need. Thanks for the help

 

Do you have the rear leaf tsb? It does both of things you want (less squat when towing, and raises rear 1")

 

How do I tell if I have a rear tsb? I doubt I have it, its a base model 4x4 truck. It has a total of 3 leafs if that helps.
