First off I am so sorry for more alarm/remote posts. And yes, I am brand new.

Hoping someone can help with this. I just had a Viper 5901 installed on my 2011 Tacoma double cab and am having some issues.

    1) When I start the truck from the remote and then insert my key as normal, I often get the flashing red security icon that will not go off until I turn off the engine and restart. One big thing is that the door locks are activated no matter what I have set. Meaning, if I have the door set to locked via the viper, then do a remote start, the locks will go to the unlocked position but the remote still says locked.

    2) My backup camera no longer works. I imagine this is a wiring issue on their part.

    3) The alarm is ultra sensitive or not much at all. If I put it on sensitivity of 5 or higher it will go off for no reason. Level 7 and above it is just crazy how often it goes off. Level 4 or below and I can kick the tires, rattle the doors etc and nothing.

Ok...is any of this common or just a bad install? The installers do not get back to work until Wed, but I thought I would ask away and be prepared when I talk with them. I have been reading many posts on here and other places that discuss parts of this, but I am still not quite sure what the installers missed.

    Thanks for any help

    Mike

Update to this. It does not look like it is actually unlocking the doors like I originally thought. The main issue still is the immobilizer light continuing to flash even after inserting the key during a remote start. It is not every time, but is happening more and more. The only way to turn it off is to kill the engine and restart.

I am fairly sure this did not happen right after the install, but it may have.

Sounds like they need to call dei help desk and get the right key pass for your truck set the key has a chip in it that works the imobilizer and the alarm has a module that mimics this sounds like the problem

Thanks. I am calling them tomorrow. I did download the module install guide and noticed that there is a wire that can be connected to the flashing signal but is not needed unless the key does not turn it off. Since it worked fine for a day, then occasionally and now never, I am wondering if this wire didn't come loose and then completely come off.

Ok. They replaced the module, fixed my rear view camera and the false alarms etc are doing much better. The light is going off again most of the time. I stress this because on occasion it will stay flashing. No idea why this is, but it happens. Still open for suggestions on this or if this just might be common? I would say that it only happens 1 out of 10 times at this point.

Starting to think this is what is wrong. It is now doing it all the time again. Starts off fine, but eventually goes to flashing every time.

I need help also! What did you/they do to fix the back up camera??? I just got a Viper 4105V (remote start w/ just the keyless entry, which my truck came stock with [2011 trd sport]). My back up camera does not work. It flashes a grey, then blue screen for like 3 seconds then just goes away completely. It tells me its trying to work but something is preventing it. The best buy installer didnt know why it did it, we check all other electrical controls (windows, locks, radio, emergency flashers) all work fine. Please help.
