oh ok I see. na i just visit on Thursdays. the whole contest thing and all. Plus my good friend works up there all the time so I just hang.

i'd say it's a good idea . and i wouldn't object to a KOH truck.

$300 isn't bad for a 4x8. you'd get 2, potentially 3 full skids out of it. which is damn cheap compared to any of the companies selling them.

nah, trailer's jsut for fun. i'm in the middle of painting the name on the side though, and i'm starting a website. the next project is a baja rack that will extend part way over the truck cab. it's going on a friend's t100. i have a drawing for it but i haven't had gotten around to scanning it yet. it's pretty much a ladder rack type thing with an off road twist.

I think the truck you have is nice....

 

just about. it'll have the light hoops up front and the raised sides, but it will come all of the way to the back of the tailgate and also have a floor to it. looks like this one has a spare tire carrier in the middle too, which the build won't have.

he needs the carrying capacity and space or the rack, but wants to be able to keep his bed cap. he also wants to be able to remove the cap but keep the rack, which is why we have to make a whole bed rack instead of just a roof rack for the cap.

is that with or without building your own IFS skid? if you were to buy an IFS, it'd be cool to cut and bend/weld that plate in a way that you would have a huge one piece skid from the tranny back to the carrier bearing and back of the gas tank. hmm, i might just have to try that.

seems a couple grand high for an 06 with those miles and 2wd. i don't know KBB though, so it could be right on.

the truck has the xrunner front body clip and the back bedside clip on it and its not an xrunner

Last week I saw a Taco with a body kit. I think it must have been a package deal because I have seen them before

 

With making my own ifs skid. The skids only need to be about 3.5' and 8' extends from the front of the stock skid all the way to the carrier bearing so I figure with the front bent up that should still be plenty to go a little behind the t-case. I think extending it that far is a bit unnecsary. A 4x8 sheet of 3/16 is about 250lbs already That's like carrying one of Jessie's girls around everywhere.

 

Going to Tallahassee Tommorow to check out the town house I might be moving into. 2 semesters until my AA and transferring to FSU...

jesse's girls asside though (via bulldozer)....with all of the cutting to fit the truck right, you'll cut down the weight a lot. there is also room to cut pieces out where protection isn't needed.

on the weight subject, i went to the stone yard last week to pick up some gravel with my dad. got 1500 lbs of rock to build up the dips in the area our boat sits.
they weigh your vehicle before and after you're loaded up to tell how much weight to charge you for. with an empty tank of gas, and my dad and i in the truck (we're less than a tank of gas), my truck was 4700 lbs. so between everything, i've added about 500 lbs to my truck since stock ...and that's with an empty gas tank no wonder it got slower
