    I wish it was 8 ft long, with the tool box, no much room left for the tools. What I really need it's 48" clear in the bottom, I could get a sheet of playwood or a sheet of drywall.

    I had a 2009 prerunner DC LB and traded it for a 2011 4x4 DC SB. I think short fits me better, looks better, easier to park in the city.

    A 5.5' box with the wheel base of the short box would be nice!

    Not sure what your trying to say. Long bed is 73.5" and the short bed is 60.3". So where did you get the 5.5' (63")? Are you saying you would like a bed longer than the shortbed but not as long as the longbed?

    No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
    sb. i dont need LB we have a 12x 7 foot trailer and a extended cab 1st gin tundra. i can still fit a dirt bike in the SB and im going to get the amp research motto bed extender.

    edit: and the SB is easier to park. the wheel base on the lb is longer than are tundra. yes i could park it just fine if i had one. but the sb is easier!

    Long bed would be nice, but you can do this with it.

    5.5'=63"? Check your math. 5.5' is 66"

    I would like a long box however I really don't like the longer wheelbase. Perhaps Toyota could offer a 66"-68" box and keep the current short box wheelbase and ditch the long box and short box on DC's.

    Don't know if not having a 6' box option is a deal breaker for some or if 66"-68" would be sufficient.

    If you use your truck as a truck, you would have chosen long bed. Like me
