I went to adjust myself in my seat last night. When it was about 17 degrees out and i put my left elbow through the plastic on the arm rest on the door. The fabric is still intact but the plastic underneath is split and keeps shifting everytime i touch it. Anyone got any ideas how to fix it.. maybe epoxy a piece of wood onto the bottom of it after taking the door panel off?

I like the epoxy idea. It is easy to do and won't cause any further damage. I might do fiberglass instead of wood though.

I had the same thing happen on my '05. Warranty replaced it back then. You may give it a shot.

My armrest was broken when I took delivery (used with 29,000 mi). Discovered this after I got it home. Went back to pick up owners manual and told my salesman. He told me to bring it back when I got back from vacation. On return I was told it was an appearance item and they would not cover it. Service dept. said they would replace it for cost. I didn't even hang around to find out what that would be.
I was also wondering if this would be an easy fix. is the door panel difficult to remove?

hmm "appearance items" should be covered under the 3 year, 36k bumper to bumper warranty...

I just broke it.... I was getting my wallet out at the drive up (which I don't get because usually I eat inside the restaurant). I remember exactly what I did. The tip of my elbow was on the armrest I leaned up...snap! I'm 6'1" and weigh 180, and you would think the dumb armrest would support me.

It's gotta be something with us guys that weigh 180 and are 6'1" haha. I still haven't gotten around to trying to fix mine yet.

I just fixed it. I took fiberglass cloth and got some fiberglass resin. I will post what I did. I even took pics. It was dry in two hours and now I could practically stand on it (if I wanted to)!! :D Very strong!

I did the same thing, shifting my weight around (all 170 lbs) and put my (boney) elbow thru my armrest. Dealer hung an entire new door panel under warranty
