K&N open element

Anyone know how to clean a K&N open element air cleaner???

mines nasty and I know it takes a little more than some compressed air.

 

lots of dawn in warm water and soft scrub brush and air.

NO AIR! it will damage the cotton Gauze that is between the screens. Go to an auto parts store and get a K&N cleaning kit. it comes with the cleaner and the OIL. about $20. Good luck!

It (the air) wasn't doing much anyway, so I stopped pretty quick. so you say they sell a kit huh? thanks, thats gonna make things easier...I hope.

 

Yeah just but the recharge kit get all the dirt out and let it air dry for a few hours depending on the temp out side. The spray tin layers of the oil on the filter letting it soak about 1min each time until you cover the whole think BUT DON'T spray too much or you will harm your mass air flow censer just enough to coat it.
