Thank you. Not that bad but it could have been better. The wether was a major beach. I did a gear swap n Denver (thanks to Eddie's help ) with the idea that this would help with the mileage. I changed to 4.56. I did exactly 5000 miles and the gas cost was aprox $3000. I was hopping for a 12 mpg average and I barely got 8-9 mpg. true that now, when I am not towing,,, I am getting about 10% better then what I used to get.
Overal this was a good move and in my eyes this is true. The gear swap is a must if you have big tires (33" +) but for towing,,, no matter what you do ,,, this truck can't tow anything substantial (more then 3000 lbs) with out seen a big drop in mileage.

Here is a pic of what I towed.

Ok so I posted this in another thread too, but I want as many eyes to see this as possible to hopefully get the best outcome.

What should I do about my 4 wheel drive problem? I dropped it off at the dealer today after work, for the 3rd visit for the same blinking light all the time problem. They have supposedly swapped out the 4wd actuator and the front diff actuator, and the service writer made a comment about "we're running out of things to replace" which I didnt appreciate.
On top of the fact that they cant seem to fix it, everytime I make an appointment and request a loaner car, they either end up having to scramble at the last minute to find me one, after telling me that they dont have one and there is no record that I requested one. Today I called to double check that they had a loaner for me before bringing the truck in, and they said they had no record of me making an appointment at all, even though I had already recieved an email and voicemail confirmation/reminder that I had an appointment for today.

And on top of all that.. the loaner vehicle they gave me today, is a PURPLE SCION XB.
That in itself really offended me, especially when they said "its the only one we can give you" but there were 3 camrys parked next to it with loaner stickers on them.

I just feel like the dealership experience is not what it should be. I feel like because I am brining in a modified vehicle they dont give a shit about fixing it. They probably think "wow this kid really fucked this thing up" and look at the snorkel and shit. Not once have they made any comment about the 4wd problem being caused by me, or any modification that I have made, but they also have not made any comment that it's their fault either.
I have read of alot of people having problems with this electronic transfercase, even though most people have no problems at all. And I'm sure no one else that visits this dealer wheels their trucks at all, so of course I'm the only one with this problem that they have seen.

I'm really at the point where I feel like I should talk to a lemon law lawyer about all this. All I want is for the 4wd to actually WORK! I've been reading alot on the rock solid toys forum about doing the fj transfercase swap, and I feel like thats something I'll end up having to do...

I've been really pissed about this whole situation all night so any advise anyone can offer is greatly appreciated.

Try a different dealership? I know you are still under warranty, so you should be able to go to any one of them, Right? I use TEAM Toyota in Langhorne & they love my truck there... The techs all tell me it's the coolest taco that comes in., and the service writers are always professional.

BTW - If you DO go the FJ Transfercase route... Let me know, I can get yo one from my Father in law's shop immediately.

I wanted to give my local shop 3 chances. My dad also sells MAC tools to the mechanics there so I thought that might help make them care about my truck a little.
If (or when) it fails again I will be brining it to the dealer I bought it from, which is way less convenient for me to get too.

I almost ripped the door off of it today when I got it home. I really think they gave me that on purpose. The lady that works at the desk said "so you are the one who was giving me a hard time today" when really all I did was ask *politely* if there was any chance I could get a 4wd loaner vehicle, and also asked why everytime I schedule an appointment, some how no one knows about it.

Josh, I would say try another dealer, it is a shame your so far from shore toyota.. they were decent to me. :/

If my truck fucks up bad again, and the dealership gives me any shit.. I fear this may be my last toyota... which sucks because I love this truck, I am just annoyed at the shitty gas milage (compared to other bigger more powerful trucks), and shit breaking that shouldn't break...
