I had the game on at work,but to friggin busy to watch any of it

 

From your point of view. For the casual fan the game featured great goaltending on both sides, bogus penalties that had a 5 on 3 for both sides, fights, a decent game winning goal and as an added bonus one player biting another, or so it seems.

The press the game is receiving is huge and I am sure the NHL loves it. The game even made the MSNBC Way To Early show which never shows hockey. And of course it led off with the bite.

I will agree with you that Burrows will probably not be suspended. I doubt that the NHL wants to bite the hand that is feeding it. Pun Intended. The ruleing will be interesting.

Anyhoo on to game 2.

I also believe that what you are saying demonstrates the difference in general attitudes towards hockey in Canada and the US . Here it is a revered sport with the games details and nuances argued and appreciated , and there it is marketed as a spectacle .

It only made the news because of the glove bite .

Here , the Canucks victory was the lead story on our national news program .
